BILL - Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League

A look at the 2008 BILL season.

Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League (BILL) 2008

The Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League
Box lacrosse is growing in popularity in the states.  We have the NLL to thank for its growth along with the influx of Canadian box players who are making the transition to the field game for college and the MLL.

Going into its 25th season, the Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League (BILL) continues to be one of the best box leagues in the US.  Expanding in growth over the past few years, the league has had its share of indoor and outdoor pros, college stars and talented college level players.  Games are played at the Clarence "Du" Burns arena located in Canton.

For the past few seasons, Team Smartlink (formerly Single Source Solutions of the USCLA) has been running the table.  With players such as Buggs Combs, Spencer Ford, Erik Miller, Zack Burke, Ben DeFelice, Casey Connor, Shawn Nadelen and new addition Paul Rabil they surely will be a force once again.

The one constant in the league over the past many years has been the veteran MILL guys who are currently playing on the Pickled Parrot and are the heart and soul of the post-game fun.  Marc Hoffman, Mark Hahn, Glenn Norris to name just a few shocked the league a few seasons back when they went on a playoff roll and beat out Dewalt, Team Toyota and then Team Scion for the BILL Championship.

Every year, the league has seen the talent level increase as players learn the nuances of the box game.  You can tell apart the teams who have box experience from those who are still in tune with the field game as they get ripped apart on the pick n roll.  But once teams learn how to defend, stay on their side and work the transition, it makes for a fun and very competitive experience.

This season the league has 9 teams.

Cummings & Co.
Dewalt
E-Lacrosse
Pickled Parrot
Smartlink
Tricerat
Baltimore LC
GotSkillzLacrosse

Games are played on Tuesdays at 6 & 7pm and Fridays from 7-9pm.  So if you're in the area, come down to Du Burns to check out some good box lacrosse.

Best of luck to all!!
