A look at the 2008 BILL season.

The season is now underway and we had a great first week of games. Scoring seemed to be kind of low all around, but that could be attributed to either excellent goalie play or that no one has picked their sticks up since the last tournament of the summer. Regardless we had some good games this week.
On Tuesday, Baltimore LC controlled the tempo beating Sandy Point 10-3. Baltimore LC has been in the league the past few years and that showed as Sandy Point just couldn't their wheels rolling. The Pickled Parrot took down Dewalt 9-8 in a close matchup of two great teams. They match up well against each other and the difference may have been the new faces on the Dewalt squad. The Parrot seemed to regain last year's chemistry early on.
On Friday night, there were 3 games. Sandy Point rebounded from their Tuesday loss to beat GotSkillzLacrosse 13-6. GotSkillz has many assignment players this season and may have a tough road ahead.
In the second game on Friday night, E-Lacrosse took it to Cummings & Co, 9-3. E-Lacrosse is made up of some veteran BILL players and will be competing for the crown come late November.
In the final game of the evening, Smartlink continued its BILL domination with a convincing 13-4 win over Tricerat who was sporting the "Hartford Whalers" uniforms. This match up was very lopsided as Smartlink won the groundball battles and ran a very good transition game.
So we're off and running and it looks like Smartlink is the team to beat. The rest of the pack will have to beat on each other to get a good draw going into the playoffs.
This week we have another full week of games so if you're in the Baltimore area on either Tuesday or Friday evening, come on down to Du Burns in Canton to check out some of the best box lacrosse in the region. League Standings
