A lil about me and the summer of sweet laxin'
Hola Amigos, who wants to get spicy cause’ you know I do. Like my good friend and fellow player of mine, Chris Finn, the meatball, I like getting real caliente’. My name is John Glynn and I currently play for THE Cornell University. I am going to be a senior this year, actually to be correct, a super senior. 5th year baby baby, I’m not complaining. Long story short, I tore my ACL in my sophomore year and was recently granted an extra semester by the oh so generous and prestigious Ivy League. Thanks guys! What this means is that I cannot play fall ball. I know, I know, it’s brutal. What will I do without those early morning lifts in snowy God’s country? To be serious though, I am going to miss it so much. We have a bunch of solid guys up there so I won’t have to make too many trips up there to take care of business. Lucky cookies (those are the rookies of course). Anyway, I know my coach will be wondering how I plan to stay in shape this fall without the assistance of the big red coaching staff. To start, this summer I have played more lacrosse than I ever had before. It is amazingggg. I have been doing an internship with STX that has worked very well for me especially with allowing me to rep the gear in all these tourneys. I have been working with the Tech rep for all of New York and New Jersey as well as working camps for exposure for STX. It has been a great summer. I’ve played in nearly all the big tournaments except war on the shore. Placid, Vail, Greenport, Newport, Ocean city and 2 summer leagues have been my stomping grounds this summer. I plan on attending the Hawaii tournament as well as the Vegas tournament, if all things work out. We shall see.
Ok, so this summer I do the running and conditioning that we do at school, but end up getting tired and bored of the same routine. So my buddy and I, he played at Bellermine, a D1 school in Kentucky, we started going on what we like to call “adventure runs.” What we do is obviously go for runs, but anything and everything in our way is an obstacle. We scale fences, hurdle bushes, climb trees, scale scaffolds, throw boulders, roll tires, jump ramps, do footwork on the train tracks, run from the train, make the train stop, keep running, and the list goes on. It’s very eventful and way more intense, both conditioning wise and fun. I love fun. So trust me, if you’re getting sick of your same old routine, try an ADVENTURE RUN. It’s a blast and triggers all your muscles and core as well as increases your stamina for short bursts and long outings.
So I guess ill wrap it up for my 1st blog. I hope you guys enjoy it and if you guys have any questions or want me to give you my two cents about something, email me at jfg36@cornell.edu. Keep eating up that lax, so good for the bod.
Chowdda,
Johnny G

Hawaii is a great tourney. While your boys are gearing up in the cold, you'll be enjoying mai tai's, bikinis and some great lax.
