When you register with Lax Spot, you create your own profile and specify who you want your information to be displayed to. Your profile information, as well as your name, email and photo, are displayed to other users on Lax Spot. You can chose not to enter any of the personal profile information such as college attended. You may also select to not display your age, gender, online status, or location to others. You designate those display settings under your account page. We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new services offered by Lax Spot that we think you may find valuable.
By default only your first name is displayed to Lax Spot visitors and members that are not designated by the system as your friends. However your last name may be available through member searches on the site. If you are concerned with others being able to view you first and last name then you should not use Lax Spot.
Lax Spot may send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the site. For instance, if a friend sends you a new message or invite, or someone posts on your comments, you may receive an email alerting you to that fact.
You may opt out of most of these emails by setting you notification preference on your account page. However, Lax Spot reserves the right to send you notices about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.
Lax Spot may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be available to members of Lax Spot.
Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Lax Spot, (e.g., sending a bulletin or message to another Lax Spot member) however, you generally cannot remove such communications.
Your use of Lax Spot, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on this site. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate at the top of this page the policy's new effective date. We need all users to report suspicious people and inappropriate content they encounter on Lax Spot. And we strongly encourage users under the age of 18 to talk to their parents or a responsible adult immediately if someone online says or does something to make them feel uncomfortable or threatened in any way.
